Butchers are for the first time in thirty odd years earning a living,good on them.
Traditional Butchers made faggors out of What ever was leftover after the prime cuts were long gone to the bourgeois.

Loved a faggot as a kid but don't see them around in london much. Well we don't have many independent butchers these days.
As for Rissoles I remember some fish n chip shops selling them, Rissoler are still very popular in France.

Where I grew up, Porthcawl, there was a butchers called Morgans, and Morgans Faggots won the Best Faggots in Wales year after year.
5p each they were, and if you caught them recently out of the oven they were divine, if you didn't mind the warm fat dribbling down you chin.
I used to love a rissole too. What's happened to them?

Brain's faggortz are muck ftom a tin can.
Proper butchers faggots made from minced mutton and the leftovers,well seasoned with a bit of spice are an English culinary delighr.
Served with onion gravy,buttery mash.and tinned peas.

That's the one. Visited a few times. Usually a butchers like that is pricey but their meat was very reasonable. Worth the queue if you're ever nearby.

One branch of my family all hailed from Bocking Church Street, great-great Aunt Gert lived at Faggot Yard. It's still there now, off the road from Braintree.

There is a butchers in Much Wenlock in Shropshire where there is a queue on a Saturday morning to get into the shop. The butcher makes his own faggots at about 30p to 40p each. At the end of my holiday, I always buy a dozen before returning back south. Faggot heaven.

When I was at uni in Cardiff, you could smell Brains Brewery for miles. Awful smell like rotten tomatoes
Brains beer was gut wrenching too for all bar the locals who seemed to love it
